Margaret's birthplace, Knicanin (also spelled 'Chnisagnin'), has variously been located in Jugoslavia, Hungary, and present-day Serbia. The same place is also named Rudolfsgnad in German (it's a German-speaking area). She immigrated to the US in 1911 and married Mihaly or Michael Bartel 7 June 1912 in Chicago. Their children include:
Catherine, 1910-1982 (md Arc Lee and Carl Wendes)
a son who died the day he was born in 1913
Theresa Gertrude, 1913-1939 (md Henry Dunning)
Franz Joseph, 1916-1964 (md Marie)
