Services Held for Mrs. John Honzay
Funeral services were held at St. Aloysius church Monday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. for Mrs. John Honzay, 89, who died at her home in Olivia Friday. Death was due to old age and she had been ill the past year.
Fr. T. D. Szymanski officiated and burial was made at the Olivia cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Moudry, Pete Wacek, Ed Wacek, John Honzay, Joe Honzay and Miles Honzay, all nephews of the deceased.
Mrs. John Honzay, (Anna Moudry) was born July 26, 1875 in Bohemia. She lived in Bohemia as a young girl and made her home in Olivia the past 65 years. She was a member of the Bohemian Rosary Society.
She was married to John W. Honzay at Bechyn on May 15, 1898. Mr. Honzay, a car and farm implement dealer in Olivia for many years, died in May 1961.
Surviving are two sons, Ed and Stanley Honzay of Olivia. Two children, Ida and Mamie, are deceased. Other survivors are one grandchild; two great grandchildren; and one brother Joe Moudry of Olivia.
