William Wallace Anderson and Manervia Ann Byrd were married in Alcorn County, Mississippi 25 October 1877. He went by his middle name, Wallace. Grandpa Anderson died on his son Arthur's place. He had just had a nice lunch and went out to lean his chair back against a shade tree for an afternoon nap. Uncle Arthur found him fallen under the shade tree, gone to Heaven.

My Mother Opal recalls the letter bearing this sad news being delivered to her father, Covus Randolph Anderson (his son) out while he was working in the fields. They were living in China Spring, Texas, at this time. (Nancy Yankie Sidarous, G Granddaughter of William Wallace Anderson.)
