Anne Elizabeth Cornwell Redman passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2010 at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Va. She was born on January 22nd, 1930, in Nokesville, Virginia to William and Laura Riley Cornwell.

Anne graduated from Osbourn High School in 1948 and started working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Arlington, Virginia. She retired forty and a half years later, in 1988, after an interesting and rewarding career and everlasting friendship with many of her coworkers. She began a second career as a nanny a short time after retirement and that brought her much joy over the next 20 years. She loved her small charges as though they were her own grandchildren and continued to keep in touch with all the children until her death.

Anne is preceded in death by her parents William and Laura Cornwell and all her siblings, Katherine Jasper, Albert, Luther, Kiley, James and Russell Cornwell. She is survived by her long-time companion and best friend P.G. Godwin; her children Roger L. Redman and Barbara Anne Stevenson; her granddaughter, Yvonne Stevenson and many nieces and nephews.

Anne's love for people was evident throughout her life, especially her family. She will be remembered for her many kindnesses shown to her family, playing ball with the children at family picnics and as the family horseshoe champion as well as everyone's friend and confidant. She was loyal and unwavering in her love. Her humor, insight and friendship will be greatly missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 27th, 2010 between 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA. Funeral services will be held at Woodbine Family Worship Center, 12914 Canova Drive, Manassas, Va., on Monday June 28th, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Gene Wells presiding.
