Although she was born in Chicago and christened there on 23 July 1906, she moved to the German farming community of Engadine, Michigan in 1909 with her family. She went to school and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church while living in Engadine. She was confirmed on 13 April, 1919.
As a young woman, in the 1920's, she moved back to Chicago and worked there as a private cook for many years.
She moved to a little house on Evergreen Road in Menominee, Michigan when she retired and really enjoyed her garden. For the last few years of her life, she lived in a nursing home in Peshtigo, Wisconsin.
Marguerite never married, but was a great sister and aunt to her siblings and her nieces and nephews.
