Helen "Berry" Hatala, 94, of Fort Wayne, owner of The Music Center for 20 years, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Woodview Health Care Center.
"She was a loving and caring person who touched the hearts of many."
The Williams County, Ohio, native had also worked with Allen County DFC as social worker for 14 years and also worked as an elementary school teacher. She was a member of XYZ Club, Fort Wayne Woman's Club, three social bridge groups and various square dance clubs.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Davis of New Haven; a granddaughter, Penny Lee of Greenwood; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour before services. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
