Doris Myers, age 83 of Heath, TX, passed away April 6, 2010. She was born May 27, 1926, in Indianapolis, IN, to Arthur & Mable (Pool) Payton. Doris loved her family and enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and hunting. She was of the Methodist faith.
Doris is survived by her daughters: Dolores Abshire & husband Pete, Diana Chapman & husband Jerry, all of Heath, TX, and Suzi Rizzo & husband Steve of San Antonio, TX; sisters: Buddy Sandifur of Sacramento, CA, Lois Jeanne Edwards & husband Bill of Royse City, TX, Marybel Bannon & husband Ron of Little Rock, AR, and Ellen Wright and husband Frank of Greenwood, IN, and Carol Zook of Taylor, TX; brothers: Mike Payton & wife Cindy of Waxahachie, TX, Lynn Payton & wife Wilma of Spencer, IN, Pat Payton & wife Nellie of Coatsville, IN, and David Payton of Indiana; grandchildren: David Abshire & wife Julia of Allen, TX, Chris Abshire & wife Amanda of Rowlett, TX, Dustin Chapman & wife Amy of Mesquite, TX, Leslie Chapman of Heath, TX, Kimberley Rizzo of Studio City, CA, Jennifer Rizzo & husband Kevin Hayden of Boston, MA, and Stephanie Abshire of Ankeny, Iowa; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dub Myers; and grandchild: Shane Abshire.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Rest Haven Funeral Home–Rockwall Chapel. Interment will follow in Heath Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
