H/O 1st America Lodemia (Slatton) Turner Married 7-25-1865, They had five children. 2nd wife Carolina (Driver) Turner married 10-28-1886.they had no children. He Enlisted 5/18/61 served throughout the Civil War in the Confederate army and participated in the battle of Perryville was shot in the chest the ball passing through. Captured by the federals and excanged in Vicksburg 12/5/62 is listed as being captured by 1st Bgd. second cavalry div. USA 4/65 (Macon Ga.)Was from Dekalb co. took oath 4/28/65 at Chattanooga. Pension #1416 in Dekalb Co. accepted. After the battle of Perryville he was transferred to the commissary department, where he served until the close of the war.
