Born on Regent Street in Briton Ferry, Glamorgan, Wales on 1 August 1863. She married John Rosser at Sardis Chapel in Pontypridd, Glamorgan, Wales on 27 Dec 1886. The family immigrated to the United States in 1898 and resided for about 20 years in New Castle, Pennsylvania. In 1904, her husband was employed as a tin roller at the Shenango Tin Mill. By 1920, they were living outside Youngstown just south of Hubbard, Ohio near Stop 28 on the Sharon Line. They operated a grocery store in the 1920s and a coal yard into the 1930s, the coal yard being at the end of Rosser Avenue, south of Hubbard.
