David Randolph BROWN indicates in his book "Brown and Burger Family Letters: 1812 - 1907" that Staten Island Cemetery was located near Richmond Terrace (Bay Street?) and Water Street; however, when he visited the cemetery site in 1983 he found that the cemetery had been vandalized and no trace could be found of the tombstone marking the graves of Lucy, Ellen, Lucy Amelia, Cornelia, and Albert Hebarts BROWN.

The original tombstone inscription was recorded in "Staten Island Tombstone Inscriptions" by Royden Woodward Vosburgh, 1924.
