Washington, IL - Benjamen C. Parks Sr., 62, of 108 Quail Trail died at 12:57 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 1994, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born March 7, 1931, in Christopher to Benjamen H. and Nellie Henson Parks, he married Barbara Rennie on Jan. 6, 1951, in West Frankfort. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Benjamen Jr. of Morton and Anthony of East Peoria; five daughters, Brenda L. Willis of Christopher, Tami L. Cheatam of Spring Bay, Sharon K. Hrovatin, Lisa K. Campbell and Angela Murray, all of Washington; four sisters, Geneva Brown of Christopher, Betty Green of Benton, Nellie June Chateau of Utica, Mich., and Violet R. Boren of Fenton, Mich.; one brother, Robert D. of Sparta; 12 grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.

One sister and one grandson preceded him in death.

A member of Caterpillar Retirees and United Auto Workers Local 974 in East Peoria, he was an overhead crane operator at Caterpillar Inc. for 36 years, retiring in 1986. A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 100.

Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
