Mrs. Christine Stephens Adair, 88, of 112 Turner Street, Adairsville, died October 5, 1986, at her residence, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Adair was born in Whitfield County November 9, 1897, a daughter of the late Wade Andrew and Matilda Barnett Stephens. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Adairsville.
Survivors include a son, Charles Wade Adair, Atlanta; two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Toups, Baytown, Texas, and Mrs. Annie Garlin, Adairsville; three brothers, Edwin Stephens and Odell Stephens, both of Adairsville; and Morris Stephens of Forrest Park; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtice Leto and Mrs. Lutie Stollenwerck, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the First Christian Church of Adairsville with Ministers Phil McPherson and Jack Roebuck officiating. Interment followed in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Ronald and Austin Stephens, Bill Penfield, John Dee Hooker, Billy Wyatt and Bill Garlin. Honorary pallbearers were elders and deacons of the First Christian Church.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
