The Civil War Chapel around 1895. The cannon in the photo is no longer there. This is where the Alderfer-Oenslager family plot is today. Also, the large statue memorial in the circle drive in front of the chapel has not yet been erected when this picture was taken.

The main floor of the chapel building is one super large room that is approx. 4-stories high. The floor is stone tiles, the walls are stone as well with oak trim. The windows are all stained glass and all around the room are the inscriptions of those from Akron who died in the Civil War.
