Huldah Lamb, daughter of John and Charlotte Farley Lamb, was born May 29, 1860, in the Sugar Grove community, where she lived her entire life of 87 years. She was the last one of a family of eleven children to pass away. Her sisters who lived to womanhood were Mrs. Caroline Allen and Mrs. Salina Crider, and her brothers who lived to manhood were Hunter, James Buchannan and Harvey Newton Lamb. Her given name, Huldah, was the family name of some of her ancestors several generations in the past. In her girlhood she was a good student at Olive Branch school where she was notable for studious and modest disposition. In early life she professed faith in Christ and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the old log church house nearly 65 years ago. She was s faithful member in this church until her death.
She married Littleton Hodges, in 1901, who died in 1929. Their only child was Clarence Jefferson, who died when 22 years old; his death was the greatest sorrow and disappointment of her life.
