Funeral services for Harvey Newton Lamb, 80, were conducted last Friday afternoon at Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ed Glover, McKenzie, Tenn., officiating.
In failing health for the past several years Mr. Lamb was stricken last Thursday morning while near his stock barn. He fell in the lot but revived and was able to enter his residence a short distance away. A physician was summoned but Mr. Lamb died before arrival of the doctor. His entire life was spent in the Sugar Grove section, on the same farm where he died.
He was the youngest child of John and Charlotte Lamb. He attended Olive Branch School and completed education at Marion Seminary. For a number of years he was an instructor in the county school system, later retiring to engage in active farming. One of the oldest members of Sugar Grove Presbyterian Church, he was clerk of the general session and also ordained an elder; he was also stated clerk of the Princeton Presbytery of the General Assembly and in addition representative of Kentucky Synod.
At the time of his death he was an elder, clerk of sessions, treasurer and instructor of Men's Bible Class of the Sugar Grove Church.
Survivors are his wife, formerly Lura Lamb. and a sister, Mrs. Hulda Hodges.
