The Atchison Champion, Friday, 2 February 1906

Mrs. H. C. Beitzel died at 10:10 o’clock on the night of January 28th, from a nervous trouble affecting the heart, at the age of sixty-six years and one week. She was born in York, Pa., married to Mr. Beitzel in 1864, and came to live in Atchison in 1887 though she had visited here before, and her husband was engaged with Charles Holbert in government work in the early days of the city. She was the mother of five children: Horace Bitzel of Philadelphia, Edward Beitzel of Silver Bell;, Ariz., Arnett Beitzel of Cincinnati, and Walter and Miss Minnie Beitzel of Atchison. Mr. Beitzel, the husband and father, is connected with the McPike Drug Company of Kansas City. The funeral service3s occurred from the residence Tuesday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. F. S. White of Trinity church. The burial was at Mt. Vernon cemetery. P. W. Seip, J. W. Barlow, R. A. Park, Edwin Lukins, W. W. Guthrie and Arthur Lukens were pall bearers.
