Elma Huffman Dies; Funeral Tomorrow

Elma M. Huffman, 89, lifelong resident of Oregon, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Mrs. Huffman was born Dec. 16, 1879, in the Oakville community in Linn County where she lived until moving to Philomath in 1899.
She was a member of the Mary's River Grange; the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge of Philomath.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Vera Abernathy, Portland; two sons, George Huffman, Portland and Claude Huffman, Lompoc, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Walker, Brownsville, and Mrs. Laura Agee, Hermiston; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her husband Chester R. Huffman, died in 1941.
Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home with Rev. Walter C. Hines officiating. Private committal services will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
