Robert Mitchell Mann was the second son & the third child of six born to, Morgan Allen Mann, and his wife, Anna [PETTIT] Mann. I personally own five "original source" documents on Robert, and this man rarely listed the same birth date twice. However I am deducing he was born in Spartanburg, Randolph County, Indiana, on 19 November 1842. In April of 1850, when he was only seven or eight years old, Robert's mother succumbed to tuberculosis. The six young children MANN were then farmed out and Robert went to live with his paternal aunt, Martha Ann [MANN] Hill, and uncle Hiram Hill, who reared him to adulthood. He fought for three Union divisions during the Civil War, two Indiana units and one Ohio artillery unit. (More information on this to come.) After the war he returned home to Indiana. In Lynn, Randolph County, Indiana he married, Lucinda Connor. She was born the third daughter and the eighth child of ten born to, Lewis Connor III and his wife, Margaret Mary [JENNINGS] Connor. Together, Robert Mitchell Mann and his wife, Lucinda [CONNOR] Mann, shared six known children. Lucinda died in 1923 and Robert moved to Wymore, Gage County, Nebraska, to live there with his youngest son, Thomas Morgan Mann. There, Robert died on, 06 August 1932; he was ninety years old. I am the author of this short paragraph, and I am also proud to be one of Robert's, great great grandsons. For a picture of Robert, with his wife, Lucinda, click on her link below.
