John Arnold died Feb. 2, 1907, at 8 a.m., in the town of Hampden, from a complication of diseases. 

The funeral was held at East Bristol, Wednesday, Feb. 6, Rev. Ig. A. Klein officiating. His wife preceded him to the grave four years ago.

The deceased was an ever loving father, always bound to the duties of life, which he fulfilled faithfully. He was from youth a hard worker. He was drafted for the Civil War but was never brought into actual service.

He leaves five children, Mrs. John Schmitt, Rob. Arnold, Mrs. Henry Ebert, Mrs. Joe Derr and Adolph Arnold, all residents of Hampen except Rob, whose home is in the town of York. He is survived by twenty-four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

May the light of eternity reward him for his good will and cordiality
