From "A Genealogy of some of the descendants of William Sawyer of Newbury, Mass., embracing Ten Generations & One Hundred & Seven Families".
William Sawyer came from England, and, according to the best tradition, from some part of Lincolnshire. He is first found in Salem, Mass., in 1640; afterwards in Wenham, Mass., in 1643, and the next year in Newbury, Mass., where he settled, raised his family , and died. He married Ruth __, whom he undoubtedly brought from his fatherland, and had 13 children, all born in Newbury.

Two of his children [listed below] where gravesites have not been found are; Bitfield Sawyer, 1647–1744 and Frances Sawyer, 1670–1744
She married Thomas Treadwell, 1665–1743, in 1693.

NOTE:13 June 2017; Per members #47985243, "According to the 'Norfolk, England, Church of England Baptism, Marriages, and Burials, 1535 - 1812' records William Sawer son of John Sawer was baptized on 25 May 1613 in Earsham, Norfolk, England. So he could not have been born in Nov 1613 by these records".[I have removed the November date and just left the year.]
