Born in 1818, Oliver was the 4th of 7 children born to George and Sally (Clark) Heavenhill. In 1848 he married Juliette Haskins. They had nine children in 15 years, losing the first, Anna (1849) and the last, George (1865) as infants. Surviving children were Fannie, Jane "Jennie," Janette "Nett," Ella, Charles, Cora, and Mae Estelle. Daughter Ella died in 1874, age 18; Juliette died in 1892. Oliver saw the turn of the new century and died in 1900.
