Augustus Farley was born in Braunschweig, Germany. He lived in Baltimore, MD in 1860 before coming to NC. He enlisted in Company C, 1st Artillery, 10th Regiment, North Carolina State Troops (The Charlotte Artillery) on August 8, 1862. He was paroled at Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865. He died in Burke County on June 4, 1899.
