Services for Anna Sue Truman will be held graveside on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 2 pm at Roselawn Cemetery in Denton, Texas with Rev. Robert Richardson officiating.

Sue Truman was born in Bomarton, Texas on June 24, 1919. Her family moved to Denton, Texas a few years later after a fire destroyed the family dry goods business in Bomarton. Sue attended Denton Public Schools and Texas Woman's University. After graduation from business school in Dallas, Sue began a career as an accountant in the plumbing supply business. Sue and business partner, Frank Stevens, established Triangle Supply Company in 1950. Triangle Supply Company soon became a leader in the plumbing industry with Sue serving as Chief Financial Officer. Sue was most proud of the fact that Triangle Supply supplied all the plumbing for the original Six Flags Over Texas. She was an astute businesswoman at a time when the field was dominated by men.

In 2000, Sue was a founding benefactor of Eaglecrest Christian Academy. For eight years Eaglecrest touched the lives of over 200 children in the Denton area.

Sue moved back to Denton three years ago to be near the family of Ann and Robert Richardson, friends for many years. Sue was a charter member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Denton. Her relationship with the Lord has been a meaningful and guiding force in her life. During the last years of ill health, Sue looked forward to the coming time with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you to the many friends and staff at Good Samaritan Village in Denton where Sue lived for the last three years. Your many acts of caring kindness are greatly appreciated.

Sue is survived by sister-in-law, Myrtle Truman of Tyler, Texas; niece, Ann Earle of Tyler, Texas and her family; nephew Ed Truman and wife Sandi of Dallas, Texas and their family; as well as many close friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sue's memory may be made to Good Samaritan Village, 2500 Hinkle Dr., Denton, Texas 76205.
