Christa George, 69
LAWRENCE — Christa (Kugel) George, 69, of South Lawrence, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 3, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Karlsruhe, Germany and was the daughter of the late Karl T. and Victoria (Nunomann) Kugel.
Christa was raised and educated in Karlsruhe where she was a high school and college graduate. She came to the United States in 1966 with her husband Ted. She and her husband resided in Andover for a short time before moving to South Lawrence where she lived for the greater part of her life.
Christa worked for many years at A.B. Sutherland in Lawrence, Jordan Marsh Company in Boston and retired from Macy's where she worked with the Calvin Kline Company.
She enjoyed working out in health clubs and was also an avid gardener. Christa enjoyed going back to Germany every year to spend summers with her mother and family. She also loved spending winters with her husband in Key West, Fla. She was a giving and loving person. She never forgot anyone's birthday or special occasion. She also loved her pets and her caring friends with whom she worked with for many years.
Christa is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Theodore C. "Ted" George, Jr.; brother, Karl Hines Kugel and his wife Helga of Germany; mother-in-law, Sophie George of Andover; brothers-in-law, Christopher George and his wife Susan of Windham, N.H., Stephen George and his wife Jing of Windham, N.H. and David George of Andover; sisters-in-law, Lynne Kiley of Salem, N.H. and Susan George of Marblehead. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
