On 17 November 1912 she married Roy McCan born in North Dakota in 1871 to William and Sarah (Collman) McCan. The marriage took place in Onawa, Monona, Iowa. From this union two children were born. Vernon Leroy McCan and Mack Royal McCan.
A 30 January 1914 article in the Webster City Tribune states that Roy is recovering from a serious sick spell and is missing. In the 1915 Iowa State Census Bessie is listed as a widow.
On 20 August 1921 Bessie married her second husband Carl Pflieger born about 1891. The marriage took place at Elk City, Union, South Dakota. By 1928 Bessie and Carl moved to Globe, Arizona where Carl worked as miner. There were no children born of this marriage which ended in divorce.
Bessies third marriage to Floyd Alfred Gwennap took place 26 May 1934 at Miami, Arizona. It lasted just over 40 year until Bessies death. No children were born of this marriage. Bessie & Floyd lived in Globe, Graham and for the longest portion of their marriage in Phoenix, Arizona.
