William R. Selby


William R. Selby, 79, of Poplar Bluff died at 11:38 a.m. Sunday at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.


Mr. Selby was born May 26, 1911, at Atchison, Kans. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the VFW and the American Legion. He received a degree from St. Benedict's College in Atchison, Kans., and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He was of the Catholic faith.


Survivors include his wife, Irene; two stepdaughters, Mary Geise of Wichita, Kans., and Susan Smith of Godmanchester, England; one aunt, Connie Faulter of Gretna, Neb.; six stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Cotrell Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Atchison.
