Born in York County, George moved to Huntingdon County, where he married Eve Gray and in 1822, relocated with his wife to Clarion County, Pa., where he lived until he died. George's father and mother were Benjamin Hyskell and Anna Margaretha Spessert (also spelled Spessard by Ira Hyskell, who wrote a book on the family). George and Anna's families were of German origins. George's name is sometimes spelled HYSKILL and other times, HYSKELL. Please note that on his very old cemetery marker, the spelling is HYSKILL - not Hyskell.
Update: my apologies for formerly attributing this burial to a different area cemetery and thanks to Tim Martin for doggedly pursuing the right burial site information. I visited there and several other local cemeteries and took the photo in 1995, accompanied by a great family history lover, my great Uncle Donald E. Kahle.
