Mrs. Dean had been a resident of Grayling for 52 years, moving here from Pinconning. She was employed as a cook at Bennett’s Cafe in Grayling before retiring. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Rochester, Michigan. Survivors include: daughter, Grace I. Hellenga of St. Helen sons, Robert J. Dean of Panama City, Florida, William E. Dean of Dade City, Florida sister, Alice Easterday of Alliance, Ohio brother, Robert Bird of Bradenton, Florida seven grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Dean, in 1952.
