Mrs. Barksdale was born in Gibson County, Tennessee, June 5, 1874, and was past 75 years of age. He had lived in Pemiscot County for the past 54 years, engaging in farming until a few years ago. In 1901 he was married to Miss Annie Darnell at Braggadocio and after her death was married to Lula Poole. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula Barksdale of Campbell, Missouri, one son, Elgie Barksdale of Braggadocio; two sisters, Mrs. Albright and Mrs. Riley Darnell of Braggadocio and three brothers, Willie of East Prairie, Roy of Risco, and Jesse Barksdale of LaJunta, Colo.
