Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie May Smith Davis, 81, of Red Bay, Alabama, formerly of Winona, were heId at the Vaiden Baptist Churc h at 2 p.m. Friday, December 21 with the Rev. J. A. Wade officiating. Burial was in the Vaiden cemetery.
Mrs. Davis passed away on Wednesday, December 19 at the residence of her daughter in Red Bay following an illness of several months. She was the daughter of the late Rufus Baroner Smith and Annie Shelton. Mrs. Davis was the widow of the late Walter Raleigh Davis.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Archie Lee of Red Bay, Alabama; one son, Wilfred Rufus Davis of Memphis; three sisters, Miss Ruth Smith and Miss Rivers Smith of Winona and Mrs. Jeanette Butt of Jackson; one brother, Rufus B. Smith of Winona. She is also survived by two grandchildren. She was a member of the Vaiden Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Boja Clark, John Stanton, Frank Stanton, Thomas Doster, James McCorkle, and Bryant Nelms. Winona Funeral Homes was in charge.
