Death of Dennis Luse
"On Tuesday morning at 2 o'clock Dennis Luse, a highly respected and aged resident of Millheim, died at his home on
West Main street of diseases incident to old age. [Note perpetual calendar gives the DoD as Sept. 3]
Mr. Luse was born on the 9th day of July 1831, making his age at the time of his death 76 years, 1 month, and 24 days. He
leaves to survive a widow and the following children: Henry K., of Oregon; James D., of Williamsport; Mrs. Michael Maize,
of Baltimore, Md.; John W., of Joliet, Ill.; Mrs. Joseph Herald, of Madison, Conn.; Mrs. Samuel Warner, of Turtle Creek, Pa., and Mrs. William Beard, of Sparrows Point, Md.
Funeral services will be held from the late residence of the deceased on Friday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by the United Brethren minister of Bellefonte, and internment will be made in the Union cemetery." (Millheim Journal, Sept. 5, 1907)

NOTE: The above obituary gives the DoB as July 9, 1831 which differs from the monument. The date of the obituary is one day prior to the DoD on the monument. Obviously the stone is wrong.
Gravesite Details
Grave is towards the top of the hill and near a spruce tree. Headstone is badly weathered and unreadable.
