Sarah was daughter of Robert Allen & his first wife Patty Soper. When she was born Vermont was part of the New Hampshire Land Grants and so some records say she was born in NH. Cottage Bible 1854 belonged to her son Hiram is my source for her bith date since she does not have a gravestone. Sarah married Solomon Soper ca. 1802, their children were Mary/Polly, Solomon, John, & a daughter name unknown at this time. Solomon & Sarah were living in Peru, NY when they divorced, she took Mary & Solomon, Jr and her husband took the other daughter and son John to raise.Sarah married Gideon Buck 24 Dec 1807 in Peru, Clinton Co., NY. Children born to them were-Philena 1808, Martha 1810, Erastus G. 1813; Ersula/Ursula A. Dec 1814; Nancy 1816; Hiram A. 1819; James L 1821; Albina Stanhope 1823; Wm. W. 1825; & Amos P. 1827. They removed from NY to Delaware Co., Ohio, after 1825 went to Knox Illinois where Gideon died 24 Feb 1844 and was buried. Family stories say Sarah went to MN with one of her children and died there. She either died in MN and was brought back to IL to be buried by Gideon or had came back to Knox county and died.
A mistake was maid in a book by A. S. Benedict about Peru Township Delaware County. He listed Sarah “nee” Allen Aldridge married second to Gideon Buck. Should have listed Soper not Aldridge . This mistake has been copied too many times. I have had a DNA match with a descendant of Sarah’s son John Soper.
