William's four children went with their mother and in 1920, were living with her and her husband Charles Wolfe on a farm they were renting in Forest, Oklahoma (Pottawatomie County). By that time, Minnie and Charles had two children of their own, Mary, age 2, and Louis, age 1.

Sometime before 1918 when he registered for the World War I draft, William married Lillian and by 1920, they were living on Broadway in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County).
