Mrs. Barbara Skipper Bodiford, age 83 of Monroeville, AL died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at a local hospital. Mrs. Bodiford was a native of Monroe County, AL and a former resident of Eight Mile, AL and Macon, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe & Mary Skipper, her husband of 52 years, John Riley Bodiford, and four sisters and four brothers. She was a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church. She survived by four children, William (Joyce) Bodiford, of Monroeville; Kenny (Fay) Bodiford, of Mobile; Ann Bodiford, of Monroeville; and Peggy ( Randall) Griffin, of Ocean Springs, MS; Eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Faye House, of Excel, AL; one brother, Gerald Skipper, of Cantonment, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Tate, Rev. Steve Dunn and Rev. Bobby Boatwright officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Frisco City, AL with Johnson Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville. Active Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Craig Bodiford, Keith Bodiford, John Bodiford, Jay Bodiford, Dane Bodiford, and Steven Garrett.
