Ephraim was married to Josephine (nee Scott) and his children were James S. Adamson, David A Adamson, George T Adamson, Oscar Adamson, Edwin Adamson, Nancy Adamson, Mary Adamson, amd Ida J Adamson.

MOWEAQUA-May 3- Ephraim Adamson died in his home at 4 o'clock Wednesday morning after a lingering illness of several months. Death was due to advanced age.
Mr. Adamson was born in Huntington, Pa, Jan 22, 1839. He enlisted Dec.14, 1863 in the Ohio Dependent Calvary. He was chosen among 100 men to be the body guard of Lincoln during the stormy days of the civil war. He heard the last speech that President Lincoln gave. Mr. Adamson was one of the seven survivors of the Union Life Guard.
In 1867 he was united in Marriage to Miss Josephine Scott of Cambridge, Ohio. In the spring of 1868 they came to Illinois to make their home. Eight children were born to this union.
The following survives him, Edwin Adamson of Decatur, Mrs. Nannie Cheatham, Ida, Mary, Jim, Oscar and Dave Adamson. He is preceded in death by his wife, who died Jan. 2, 1923 and one son George who was killed in Indianapolis in an automobile accident. Besides his children he is survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Adamson was a member of the Methodist church and GAR. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Methodist church.
