Funeral services for Lammertdena Bents, 85, were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, at the First Presbyterian Church, Sibley, with Rev. Terry Simm officiating. Interment was in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley, with Andringa Funeral Home, Sibley, in charge of arrangements. She died August 15, 2007.
Lammertdena Bents was born on September 7, 1921, in Osceola county, the daughter of Harm and Antje (Funk) Waalkes. She lived her youth in rural Sibley, where she attended a country school and town school.
She was married to George Bents, Jr. of Rushmore, Minn., on February 8, 1948, at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Rushmore. They lived and farmed south of Rushmore.
She was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church until 1988, when she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sibley.
Survivors are her husband: George Bents of Rushmore, Minn.; her son and daughter-in-law: Lester and LaVonne Bents of Rushmore, Minn.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Jason and Sheila Bents of Sumner, and their children: Natasha and Tanner; Jacalyn and Wade Garms of Adrian, Minn.; and their children: Adam, Austin and Aaron; Justin Bents of Rushmore, Minn.; one sister: Jennie Beers of Spirit Lake; one sister-in-law: Gertrude Waalkes of Sibley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Grace (in infancy), Lena Kruger; brother: Lammert Waalkes.
