August and Christina were married on August 11, 1888. Gustaf Edgren, M.G., officiated the vows in Norway, Dickinson, Michigan. Witnesses were Olaf and Anna Borgstrom of Norway, Michigan. August, 22, was an an iron ore miner and the son of Magnus & Anna (Jandotter) Larson. Christina, 23, was a domestic.

FIRE VICTIM DIES OF SHOCK AND BURNS

August Magnuson, 78, died at 5:30 yesterday morning in the Penn Hospital, where he was taken Wednesday morning after he had suffered burns on his face and hands. Death was caused by a heart ailment aggravated by shock and burns received in a fire at is residence.
He lived with his son, Arvid, on a farm in Swedetown, in the first ward, was burned when he attempted to extinguish a fire which started in wood piked near the kitchen stove.
He warned his son, who escaped through his bedroom window, and then returned to drag his father from the livingroom, where the latter fell unconsciousness near an outside door.
Mr. Magnuson had been a resident of Norway for 57 years. He leaves 3 daughters: Mrs. Harry Pultz, Mrs. Floyd Coombs, Lillian; 4 sons: Arvid, Arthur, Ivar and Herbert; 13 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Fred Strand.
