Ernest was born in Washington Twp., Indiana Co., PA, the son of "Abe" Abraham Lincoln Brewer and "Jennie" Hannah Jane Miller. He married Lucy Anna Clawson on September 10, 1908 in Creekside (Washington Twp.), Indiana Co., PA. He died in the Indiana Hospital, located in White Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
Ernest and Lucy were the parents of five children:

A retired farmer, he had lived most of his life in Washington Twp.
Surviving are a son, James, Indiana RD 5; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Vernie) Richards, Mt. Gilead, Ohio; a half-brother, Paul Brewer, Marchand; a step-brother, Harry Mitchell, Indiana; three sisters: Mrs. Albert (Mary) McGary, Boron, Calif.; Mrs. Mae Swiderski, Washington, Pa.; Mrs. Joseph (Clara) Potts, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; (including Mrs. Jack (Hazel) Haggerty, Hastings, whom he raised); 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Anna Brewer, a son, Paul, and two daughters, Edna Wissinger and Jennie Weaver.
Friends will be received after 7:30 p.m. today and from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Carl R. Johnston officiating. Interment will be made in the Harmony Grove Cemetery, near five [sic] Points.
