DAILY REPUBLICAN REGISTER ON JULY 12,1906

Mrs. Elen Hickey died at her home six miles south of Galesburg, Ill.at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon after an illness dating from November last. During her illness she bore her suffering with patience and was resigned when the end came.
Ellen Godsil was born in County Cork, Ireland March 3rd, 1850.???
She came with her parents to Galesburg, Ill. about 33 yrs ago.
On April 8th, 1880, she was united in marriage with John Hickey, who died Jan. 5th, 1902.
Mrs. Hickey is survived by the following children: Kathryn, Frances, John, and Lawrence, living at home, and Ella, Mrs. Margaret Dooly, Mrs. W.J. Morley, Mrs. Mary Moriarity, and Mrs. Anne Edwards all of Chicago, Ill. A sister, Mrs. Margaret Scully, and (2) brothers, Patrick and Michael Godsil, of Galesburg, Ill.
During Mrs.Hickey's illness she was attentively cared for by her pastor, Rev.Father Doubleday.
