OBITUARY
Calder Garr Schvaneveldt
TREMONTON, Utah - In loving memory of our father, grandfather, brother and friend, Calder Garr Schvaneveldt, "Swanie," 68, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, in Tremonton.
Calder was born on May 5, 1933, in Logan, Utah, to Joseph Hyrum Schvaneveldt and Mayme Eveleen Carlsen. He was the youngest of seven children. Calder was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married LeeAnn Schaerrer on Nov. 13, 1964. They were later divorced.
Calder had an enthusiasm for life. He spent his time golfing, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the Army. His service took him to Germany and later to Austria, where he joined the ski patrol.
In 1961 he began his career at Thiokol, where he worked for 31 years. He enjoyed his retirement by traveling to the coast and spending warm winters in Yuma, Ariz.
His personality attracted many. Those who knew him appreciated his friendliness and sense of humor. His laugh, charm and kindness to others will be missed by many.
Calder is survived by his three children, Robert Garr (Jennifer) Schvaneveldt, American Fork, Utah; Larissa (Bryson) Swasey, Mendon, Utah; Sheri Lee (Jared) Bauer, Boise, Idaho; and four grandchildren, Isaac, Adam, Sabrina and T.J. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by two older brothers, Clyde J. and Dale E. Schvaneveldt.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2002, at noon at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 E. Center Street, Logan, where family and friends may attend a viewing Friday, March 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Peach Tree Place in Tremonton for the loving care they showed their father the past 15 months.
