Isaac Hibbs married Mary Lucas. They had seven children: Nancy, Elisabeth, William, Susan, Mahlon, Mary, and Isaac. Mary (Lucas) Hibbs died in 1828, and is buried in the cemetery at Kilgore.
In March of 1844, Isaac remarried to Juliann Matthews. Sometime after this date Isaac, Juliann, Mahlon, the younger Isaac, and stepdaughter Isabella Matthews, relocated to Jefferson Twp., Tuscarawas County. They are all listed on the 1850 census as being in Jefferson Twp., occupation of "farmer." They lived somewhere up in Oldtown Valley, just over the hill from Stone Creek. Between the three of them, they seem to have farmed quite a bit of land.
In early 1858, Isaac died at the age of 68. His will was written in 1855, and was executed in late March of 1858.
He is buried in Forney Cemetery, now on private property but visible from County Road 24 (Oldtown Valley). It's in a field, and the current owners have the cemetery fenced in.
Forney Cemetery was a community cemetery, and it appears there are a lot of children buried there.
According to the cemetery records, there is a grave that reads: "Isaac Hibbs, aged 68 years." Tuscarawas County did not begin keeping death records until 1867.
