Glenden Vincent Berglund was born Nov. 30, 1917, to Oscar and Hannah Berglund of Panola. Nov. 25, 2005, he was taken by an angel home, with his family surrounding him.

He spent his entire life in the Chisago Lakes area. In 1936, he traveled to Silver Creek, Oregon to work in the C.C. Camps until 1937. June 21, 1941, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Freed, of Palmdale. They were married for 64 years.

Glen owned a chicken hatchery and poultry farm south of Lindstrom for 25 years. Health concerns forced him to retire from the chicken business and he began to look to his future for a new business. In 1966, he built Lakeshore Terrace Mobile Home Park. He retired in 1978. Glen and Dorothy traveled and wintered in Mission, Texas, for 21 years.

He was a Lindstrom volunteer fireman, Lions Club member, and served on the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church Board for 12 years. He loved his family, hunting, woodcarving, traveling, and especially dancing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Hannah Berglund; an infant daughter; sister, Marjorie Anderson, and brother, Kenneth Berglund.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Dorothy; son, Gary (Nancy) Berglund, LeAnn (Steve) Lewis, and Sharon (Doug) Roush. He was a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service was Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, in Center City. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, in Center City. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home, in Lindstrom.
