Madgie Jones Johnson, 85, of the Cool Springs Community, died Monday, December 4, 2006 at Conway Manor.

Mrs. Johnson was born January 19, 1921, the daughter of the late Annie Rabon Jones and Newberry Jones.

She was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by a son, Joseph W. Johnson; two sisters, Leona Branton and Margaret Holt; three brothers, Dewey Jones, N.B. Jones, and Donnie Jones.

She had the sweetest smile and will be missed by her friends and family.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Henry A. Johnson of Aynor; three sons, Henry Alfred Johnson and wife, Joyce, of Aynor, James Edward Johnson and wife, Josephine, of Mullins, and Junior Andy Johnson and wife, Vicky, of Aynor; two daughters, Martha Ann Wright and husband, Winford, of Hendersonville, N.C., Rachel Mills and husband, Johnnie, of Aynor; a nephew, Donald Earl Jones of Aynor; 11 grandchilren, Joseph Johnson, David Johnson, Scottie Johnson, Missy Parish, Kim McGraw, Lora Kinley, Johnny Countiss, Dale Johnson, Renee Severt, Christina Browning and April Harrelson; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Dock Rabon officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the funeral home and also at the residence of Rachel Mills, 1510 Hucks Rd., Aynor, SC 29511.

Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
