Rosenberg Herald, August 6, 1937:

Mrs. John Bolo died at the family residence on the Orchard-Simonton highway Sunday. Funeral services were conducted from the home Monday afternoon, August 2, 1937, at 4 o'clock. Rev. A.M. Roos, pastor of the Needville-Orchard M.E. Church, officiated in the presence of a host of relatives and friends. Interment took place in the Orchard Cemetery. Several special songs were rendered by friends from Wallis and Needville.

Mrs. Bolo was born in Barance, Hungary March 31, 1854. She was married to Mr. John Bolo in 1884. To this happy union three children were born, two of whom survive, one having died in infancy.

Mrs. Bolo first moved with her family to Sheffield, Indiana in the year of 1889, moving from there to La Grange, Texas in 1896. She moved to Orchard, Texas in 1905 where she continued to live until her death.

Mrs. Bolo was a good christian woman, loved and held in high esteem by all of her acquaintances. Her passing is keenly felt by neighbors and friends and she will be greatly missed from the walks of life, but she has gone to establish her residence where there is no more sorrow or sickness, where everything is joy and gladness. May God comfort the bereaved survivors.

Deceased is survived by her husband, Mr. John Bolo of Orchard; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Hede and Mrs. Richard Schoettler, both of Orchard; two grandsons, Albert Schoettler of Houston and Rudolph Schoettler of Orchard; two granddaughters, Mrs. C.N. Hills of Mont Belvieu and Miss Frieda Schoettler of Orchard; one great-grandson, baby Don Edward Schoettler of Orchard.

The Foerster Funeral Home of Rosenberg had charge of funeral arrangements.
