Evelyn Koym was born March 13, 1921 in East Bernard, and passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 11, 2009, at OakBend Hospital in Richmond.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug.15, at Orchard United Methodist Church, 322 North Missouri in Orchard. The family receives friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Knesek Funeral Home, 122 FM 1093 North in Wallis.
Evelyn was a member of Orchard United Methodist Church. She was an avid domino player, playing at several surrounding churches. She was a very good cook and very well known for her delicious homemade pies.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Koym; parents, Herbert and Wanda Hensch; brother, Charlie Hensch; and three sisters: Ruth Reimer, Dorothy Yoakum and Cordie Marsh.
Survivors include her daughters: Bev Ekarius and husband, Vernon, Sherry Mersmann, Debby Oliver and husband, Jim, and Lori Koym; grandchildren: Kristie Pacher, Dana Ekarius, Jeffrey Mersmann, Brian Mersmann, Amber Gordon and Carrie Oliver; and great-grandchildren, Chase Pacher and Paige Pacher.
