Pioneer Citizen of Boyd Passes On
Mrs. Sarah Bradley Granstaff was born in Tennessee, Feb 20, 1859. Her parents moved to Texas, when she was a small child and settled eight miles south of Boyd, in the northwest corner of Tarrant County, and she has lived all her life since childhood in Boyd and the Boyd Community.
She was converted at a very early age and joined the Missionary Baptist church, and has lived a useful, influential, Christian life all through the years, and until her health failed, the last few years, she was active in her church life.
She was married Dec 25, 1877, to John L. Granstaff, also of Boyd. Nine children were born to this union. Two of the children have passed on and Mr. Granstaff died in 1896. Mrs. Granstaff had lived a widow with her children since that time.
She departed this life at the home of her son, Carl Granstaff in Boyd, Texas, Wednesday, Feb 28, at 4:30 PM, at the age of 86 years and 8 days.
She is survived by seven children, Mrs. S. K. Terry and Virgil Granstaff of Fort Worth, Grady and Carl of Boyd, and Lee Granstaff, address unknown. She is also survived by a good number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Boyd Baptist Church, Friday, March 2, at 2 PM, conducted by Pastor Rev. R. E. Cook of Denton.
Interment was made in New Hope cemetery, 10 miles south of Boyd.
Pall bearers were Edwin Bowen, Grady f. Keith, Paul Rann, E. J. Wren, W. B. Horn and C.E. Manning.

According to her death Certificate her parents were Daniel Bradley and Lydia Castine.
