MRS. GEORGE WAGONER PASSED AWAY AT HER HOME HERE LAST SATURDAY

The silent visitor who comes as an unwelcome guest to every home has come to the threshold of the life of Mrs. George Wagoner, who passed away at her home in this city Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock, after only a two day's illness. Mrs. Wagoner had been in poor health for about a year. Thursday evening she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she did not recover, this being the immediate cause of her death. Sarah Ellen Cook, daughter of Hezekiah and Mary A. Cook, was born near Deer Creek, Carroll County, Ind., Feb. 11, 1853; died Jan. 17, 1920; aged 66 years, 11 months and 6 days. October 4, 1873 she was married to George Wagoner. Four children were born to this union, all of whom survive as follows: Dr. E.D. Wagoner of Burrows; Mrs. Reuben Flora of Nappanee, Ross Wagoner and Mrs. Ben Leslie of this city. Besides the children she is also survived by the husband, and six brothers as follows: Wm.. Cook of Louisville, KY; Harvey and Mitchell Cook of Randolph County; John of Wayne County; L.N. and Grant of this city; and fifteen grandchildren. She joined the Hopewell Presbyterian church at Wheeling in early girlhood, and in 1911 she moved her membership to the First Presbyterian Church of Flora under the pastorate of Rev. O.L. Prentice. She remained steadfast in the faith to the end. She was a kind wife and a loving mother, one who by her many acts of kindness causes us to ponder over these words, Mother works for you; Looks after you; Loves you, forgives you anything you may do; Understands you, And then the only heart-ache she ever gives you is to depart and leave you.

The funeral was conducted at the Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. E. LeRoy Steffey, the local pastor, officiating. Interment in Maple Lawn cemetery.
