Clarence Crisp's parent unit was Royal Artillery. Later he applied and was selected for service with the 1SAS Regiment. In 1943 Clarence became a member of the Special Raiding Squadron unit under the command of the legendary Major Robert Blair Mayne, "Paddy" to his soldiers.
