Sergt. Leon Abramchik, gunner, Brooklyn, was reported missing in action since Sept. 11, 1943. (Newspapers.com, The Daily News, New York, NY, 8 Nov 1943, pg 414, col. 4). He was 5'7", 160 lbs, blue eyes, brown hair, ruddy complected, according to his draft card. His parents were Max and Tillie Abramchik (looks like Abranchal in 1940 US Census for Bronx County, NY), siblings were Emanuel, Julian, Harold, Gertrude, and Aarion. He was in the Army, posted in the Pacific.
