Eldest daughter of Captain Reuben Norvell of Amherst County;wife of John Caskie,Esq married by Rev.William S.Reid July 10,1817.

John was a merchant who came from Scotland,with his brother James,later settled in Lynchburg.

Son Reuben Reeve Caskie died July 15,1837,age 6 months and 15 days.

Son John Norvell Caskie married Emma Armistead Russell of Richmond on April 27,1843.

John Norvell Caskie died at the age of 25,January 13,1846.Emma died at the age of 24,October 28,1846.Son of John N and Emma,Robert Hutchison Caskie died July 14,1849 age 3years,6 months and 15 days.

Daughter Mary Edmonia Caskie married Robert Hutchison of Savannah,Georgia on November 2,1848.Mary died in Richmond at the home of her father,July 3,1852.

"Died, on yesterday morning, Mrs Martha J. Caskie, wife of John Caskie, Esq., in the 47th year of her age. The friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend her funeral this afternoon, at half past 3 o'clock precisely."
